Miguel de Cervantes
Vida, y Hechos del Ingenioso Cavallero
Don Quixote de la Mancha (Madrid, 1765)
Four Volumes
This is a complete four-volume 1765 Madrid edition of Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote de la Mancha, printed by Manuel Martín and preserved in its period vellum bindings. Illustrated throughout with contemporary woodcut engravings and printed on eighteenth-century laid paper.
This set represents one of the earliest widely distributed illustrated Spanish editions of the masterpiece often regarded as the first modern novel.
Despite expected age-related wear and some binding separation, the volumes remain remarkably well preserved, retaining their original character, strong visual appeal, and extensive illustrated program.
Complete eighteenth-century Spanish sets of Don Quixote seldom appear on the market and remain highly sought after by collectors of Cervantes, Spanish literature, and early illustrated books.
