Produced shortly after Voltaire's death under the direction of Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, this monumental publication is widely regarded as one of the most important publishing achievements of the French Enlightenment.

The set retains its period bindings, marbled endpapers, engraved portrait of Voltaire, and numerous engraved illustrations prepared for the edition.
